What makes food clean or unclean? How do OT dietary laws teach, reprove, correct & train modern Christians in righteousness? Can we ignore them? What sweet savor of Christ do we to find in these warnings against pig roasts & shrimp on the barbie?

Join us as we examine Leviticus 11 and consider the dietary laws of Israel and the distinctions we are called to make as Christians called to be “a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [Christ’s] own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

04/28/2024 | “Warning Label” | Leviticus 10:1-20

Worship is beautiful and glorious, but it can be deadly. Drawing near to God in our own way or on our own merit brings judgement. So, worship comes with a warning label. Leviticus 10 is a tragic but powerful reminder to worship God only as he commanded.  Join us as we examine Leviticus 10 and consider the warning label God provides for our worship.

Rivers of blood & endless sacrifice revealed firsthand sin’s deadly effect. Join us as we examine Leviticus 6:8-7:38 as we consider the care of shepherds for sheep and the care of the congregations for their pastors.

03/03/2024 | “Stain Removal” | Leviticus 5:14-6:7

No way to wash out sin’s guilty stain? Take heart, there is hope! Join us as we examine Leviticus 5:14-6:7 and consider the guilt offering, what it teaches us about our sin and how it provides a way to put it behind us and move forward.

02/25/2024 | “No Excuses” | Leviticus 4:1-5:13

Sin always has a reason. But guilt is never excused by good intentions or bad intelligence. Everyone knows that “ignorance of the law is no excuse.” Sin is sin. Guilt is guilt. But God is gracious. Join us as we examine Leviticus 4 and consider what God has to say about unintentional sin and the danger of making excuses.

Are you a cheerful giver? Is your worship joyful? Are you preparing for worship with the oil of gladness, the sweet incense of prayer, the refined flour of gratitude, all seasoned with the salt of grace? What are you bringing? Are you a cheerful giver? Join us as we examine Leviticus 2 and consider what the instructions about the grain offering teach us about cheerful giving.

02/04/2024 | “The Holocaust” | Leviticus 1:3-17

John’s cry, “Behold the lamb of God” is unintelligible without Leviticus.  Leviticus 1-7 is the priest’s handbook for sacrifice.  Detailing what, how, and why to sacrifice.  In these mundane pages we see exhibited the beauty of Christ crucified. Join us as we examine Leviticus 1:3-17 and consider the reason, ways, and effects of whole burnt offerings and how they speak of Christ.
